- portland (oregon) - it's understated. take amtrak.
- vancouver, bc (canada) - bring a passport. take amtrak.
- victoria, bc (canada) - bring a passport. take the clipper.
- san juan islands (drive + ferry) - it's the end of the united states.
- oregon coast (go see where the goonies was filmed - astoria)

- ray's boathouse - killer views! mostly seafood (ballard)
- sutra - we love it here so much. great people. hidden gem of a chef. (wallingford)
- tutta bella - great for kids. really awesome neopolitan pizza. (4 locations)
- portage bay cafe - breakfast and lunch. (3 locations)
